Outing Month
Throughout the summer, and particularly in June, the Club hosts a variety of golf outings and restaurant events. We recognize that it can be frustrating when the course or restaurant is not available when you want it. That is part of the reason for Hooks & Slices – so you are not surprised. When possible, the Club leaves some tee times available during or around these events and keeps the bar open even when the restaurant is closed. However, some events are too large to do that. These events are a very important source of revenue for the Club. They help keep our doors open. Your understanding and patience are appreciated.
This Week
FITTING DAY: On Thursday, June 11, get fitted by an expert for Callaway clubs (9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) (click here to sign-up for Callaway) or Cobra clubs (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) (click here to sign-up for Cobra).
GOLFERS WANTED: On Friday. June 12, the Boys & Girls Club of the Northwoods will be holding a big event. Non-event tee times are available. The bar and restaurant are open for your enjoyment.
Private Event: Later in the day. on Friday, June 12, the JuJu Outing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Non-event tee times are available. The bar and restaurant are open for your enjoyment. Private Event: On Saturday, June 13, the famous (infamous?) Rubber Classic will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is full. THE BAR AND RESTAURANT WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY. There are non-event shotgun tee times available at 8:00 a.m.

GOLFERS WANTED: On Monday, June 15, the Club will be the site of the annual Elks & Friends Outing from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is a four-person scramble with a modified shotgun start. Non-event tee times are available, and the bar and restaurant will be open for your enjoyment. Please contact Matt McCann (click here) to register to participate.
Private Event: On Friday, June 19, the Club will be the site of the Spud Seed Outing. There are no non-event tee times available, and THE BAR AND RESTAURANT WILL BE CLOSED. GOLFERS WANTED: On Monday, June 22, the Club will hold the Second Annual Bass Lake Ladies Best Ball Open. Details below. Correction and Thank you!
Last week, Hooks & Slices thanked a long list of people, including those people who spread mulch between holes 8 and 9. We unintentionally omitted Tom Muraski. Thank you, Tom, and thank you again to everyone else who volunteered for that and other projects.
CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION!
Please remember to buy your tickets for the Centennial Celebration. The event will be on July 18. Early purchases allow the Club to plan. This would be a good week to buy tickets. Also, 1. Please provide old photos of the course, the Club, the current or former clubhouses and members enjoying the Club. Drop them off at the Golf Shop or email them to Sue Zubella by clicking here. 2. Put together a note about your connection to the Club, a memory, a significant life event that happened at the Club, a funny story or an anecdote. Mention how long you (and maybe your family) have been connected to the Club. Drop your note off at the Golf Shop.
